A funeral prevented me from attending the opening of the new Pump Track at Dungog but I couldn’t go past celebrating this amazing new facility.

The purpose-built pump track is an exciting addition to Dungog Common.

It was a pleasure to meet with representatives from Clarence Town Bowling, Sport and Recreation Club and look over upgrade plans.

The club secured $15,000 through the Stronger Communities Program Round 8 towards the project.

I congratulate Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club on recent improvements to the Tuncurry racecourse.

Tuncurry Forster Jockey Club received $689,000 under the former Federal Coalition Government’s Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program for upgrades to the intersection of Chapmans Road and the Club access road, as well as to seal an internal dirt road.

Wingham’s Farquhar/Bent Street intersection improvement works are almost complete with the stamping and linemarking recently finalised.

Further footpath paving and chevron markings are planned for this area.

I was invited to Inverell recently in my capacity as the chair of Parliamentary Friends of Nuclear Industries to deliver a presentation about recent developments with nuclear energy technology and how this form of energy generation could significantly benefit our nation.

If Australia is to secure its energy future and keep downward pressure on electricity prices, then we must embrace nuclear technology as part of our future energy mix.

With summer here, remember that our rural fire brigades are made up of volunteers.

They give their time, as part of the world’s largest volunteer fire service, to protect communities from bush and grass fires, as well as attending other emergencies.

At a recent meeting of the Joint Regional Planning Panel, the development application was deferred to allow the applicant to modify the proposal which had been recommended for refusal by MidCoast Council.

I've had several meetings with Federal Minister for Infrastructure Catherine King requesting the funds previously allocated to local projects by the former Federal Coalition Government continue to remain in place.

Work is almost complete on the Wingham Sporting Complex grandstand roof thanks to $400,000 made available under the former Federal Coalition Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

The upgraded grandstand will enhance the spectator experience at what is an important sporting asset.

It was a pleasure to join my colleague, Senator Bilyk, in our roles as Chair and Co-Chair respectively of the Japan Parliamentary Group, to meet with former Japanese Prime Minister, Mr ASO Taro.

I recently announced a $5-million Federal funding boost to the Cedar Party Creek Bridge Replacement project at Wingham.

The project is being undertaken by MidCoast Council in collaboration with Transport for NSW.

Our community is overwhelming opposed to the proposed offshore windfarm.

Today’s rally at Hawks Nest called on the Albanese Government to halt the proposed Offshore Hunter wind generator project and revisit authentic community consultation.

It’s great to see that the Rockpool playground in Tuncurry is still as popular as ever.

This excellent piece of infrastructure for our community was made possible through $250,000 from the former Federal Coalition Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program.
