Local Sporting Champions

The Local Sporting Champions grant assists young people from 12 to 18 years old who are competing in or officiating state, national or international sporting competitions.

Funding between $500 – $700 is available to assist with the costs associated with competing in high level sporting competition.

Some who have been awarded the Local Sporting Champions have even gone on to compete in the Olympics!

Powering Communities Program - CLOSED

The Powering Communities Program provides community organisations with funding for local energy saving projects that will lower power bills and help reduce Australia’s emissions.

The Program will fund up to 12 projects worth a total of $67,700 in each federal electorate. Grants of between $5,000 and $12,000 are available.

Eligible projects include:

> Installing solar PV systems and batteries;

> Replacing high-energy using equipment, such as air conditioners and lighting with more efficient equipment;

> Energy audits and monitoring equipment.

Volunteer Grant Program - CLOSED

Volunteers play a critical role in helping shape Australia and building stronger and more resilient communities.

Grants of between $1000 and $5000 will help community groups buy equipment such as laptops, a fridge, pay fuel costs, or assist with volunteer training.

The objectives of Volunteer Grants are to: 

1. help community organisations to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers

2. help community organisations to support the inclusion of vulnerable people through volunteering and

3. encourage, support and increase participation in volunteering.
