OAM HONOUR FOR DR ANNE KNIGHT

Well done to Dr Anne Knight for being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to medicine through a range of roles.

The Taree doctor is a senior specialist physician at Manning Base Hospital.

Dr Knight has been co-director, general medicine since 2020, and consultant physician, general and respiratory, at Taree, since 1992.

She also gives back to the profession through education and training.

Dr Knight has been a senior lecturer in medicine since 2008 with the Department of Rural Health, University of Newcastle and was Clinical Dean at Manning Rural Clinical School in 2014-2015.

She has been a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians since 1990 and a member of the Gender Equity in Medicine Working Group since 2020.

Dr Knight was president of the Internal Medical Society of Australia and New Zealand from 2020-2022.

Congratulations to Dr Knight on her recognition in the Australia Day 2024 Honours List.
