$705,000 FEDERAL FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR TAREE AND CUNDLETOWN SPORTSFIELDS
Two popular sporting fields at Taree and Cundletown will receive $705,000 in Federal funding to upgrade facilities.
Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie MP met this week with representatives of local touch football, soccer and rugby league clubs to announce the support.
“I’ve been listening to the Taree and Cundletown sports clubs who have been wanting these critical upgrades and now we’re delivering. These are substantial funding announcements for these complexes,” Dr Gillespie said.
$400,000 Danny Buderus Field Taree
· Two additional change rooms for females
· Refurbishment of existing change rooms and amenities
· Remediation works to a structural wall that has subsided due to footing failures
$300,000 Cundletown Football Club Field Cundletown
· Additional change rooms for females
· Refurbishment of existing amenities and canteen
· Extra storage space
· Disabled amenities
$5,089 Cundletown Football Club Cundletown
· Funding awarded under the Powering Communities Program to upgrade the canteen refrigerator with an energy efficient model to significantly reduce energy consumption and utility bills.
“Families, sports clubs, schools, visitors and our broader Manning Valley community will all benefit from these improvements and there’s a lot of excitement from the clubs,” Dr Gillespie said.
“We’ve been involved in this community for a long, long time and it will be great to have a whole new structure to the building here, especially for our juniors and seniors to be able to get together after fixtures,” Taree Touch Football president Graham Goodwin
