DELIVERY TIMEFRAME NEEDED ON VITAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
I have called on the NSW Labor Government to commit to a delivery timeframe for the long-awaited Pacific Highway - Harrington Road Interchange project.
In 2021, the former Federal Coalition Government allocated $48 million for the interchange.
The funding remains on the table but the planning is only at the concept design phase.
Surely, the work can move faster than this.
While I welcome the release of the concept plan and environmental assessment for the interchange project, the NSW Government needs to give the community a delivery timeframe and get on with the job.
We need to see action on what remains an unfinished part of the Pacific Highway.
The longer the NSW Government delays, the more risk there is to the community. It is simply not good enough and the community deserves better.
The interchange is vital to improve road safety, accessibility, and traffic flow.
Transport for NSW has released the Pacific Highway - Harrington Road Interchange concept design and Review of Environmental Factors.
The information is available on the Transport for NSW website.
Feedback from the community and stakeholders is open until midnight on Sunday, March 10th.
The State Government has committed $12 million to the $60 million project.
