UPGRADE OF HARRINGTON’S ESMOND HOGAN PARK
Harrington’s Esmond Hogan Park has had a further upgrade with the completion of a new storage building for local sporting club equipment and facilities.
Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie said the project was supported with $75,000 in funding made available under Round 2 of the former Federal Coalition Government’s Local Roads & Community Infrastructure program.
“These new storage facilities for the sporting clubs, particularly Harrington Little Athletics, are a welcome addition to Esmond Hogan Park,” Dr Gillespie said.
“MidCoast Council has been working with the various sporting groups who use the Park to undertake this upgrade and develop a long-term plan to improve the facilities.”
Dr Gillespie said he was pleased the Australian Government was able to make a significant contribution towards the local project.
“The Federal funding allocated through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program aims to stimulate additional infrastructure construction in local communities across Australia and I’m delighted we have been able to support so many of these types of projects since it was introduced a few years ago,” he added.
