APPLY NOW: BUILDING BETTER REGIONS NEW FUNDING ROUND 6

Councils and community groups are encouraged to apply for Building Better Regions Fund Round 6, which is open from this week through to Thursday 10 February, 2022.

Local governments and eligible, incorporated not-for-profit organisations can again apply for grants of $5,000 up to $10-million, to cover 50 per cent or more of project costs.

Round 6 projects will be funded under two streams:

·         The Infrastructure Projects Stream supporting construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure.

·         The Community Investments Stream funding community development activities including, but not limited to, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, leadership and capability building activities.

Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie MP said the program had supported a number of outstanding local projects and initiatives in recent rounds: Forster Foreshore Redevelopment by Forster Surf Life Saving Club, Kew Main Street upgrade, Nabiac Aquifer Water Supply’s additional bores, Bonnie Wingham Scottish Festival, new Seniors Living Community Village Gloucester, Comboyne Gardenista, Dungog’s Dowling Street CBD beautification, Wingham Akoostik Music Festival and the MidCoast regional skills audit to be conducted by Taree Universities Campus.

“These important local projects are making sure our communities have the resources and facilities they need for the future,” Dr Gillespie said.

“The Nationals in Government have a strong track record of delivering projects that are important to regional Australians and I look forward to discussing new projects with local councils and community groups.”
