VIDEO: COVID VACCINE ROLLS OUT ACROSS AUSTRALIA

This week the first doses of the coronavirus vaccine arrived in Australia.

This first shipment is part of 20 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, secured through an advance purchasing agreement under our vaccine strategy.

The arrival of the vaccine confirms that we are on track for our most vulnerable groups to start receiving the vaccine on 22 February 2021. Approximately 80,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be made available in the first week.

The first priority for vaccines are hotel quarantine and border workers, frontline healthcare workers and aged care and disability care residents and staff.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has approved the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for use in Australia following a full and thorough assessment process.

We have secured 53.8 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, with 50 million doses being manufactured here in Australia.

Two safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines are approved for use in Australia.

The Morrison Government is committed to providing safe and effective vaccines free to everyone in Australia.

VIDEO: GILLESPIE CALLS FOR NEW PHASE IN PACIFIC HIGHWAY UPGRADE PROGRAM

With completion of the upgrade to four lanes along the entire route of the Pacific Highway, construction of the Coffs Harbour bypass underway and planning in its final stage for the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace, it’s now time to begin planning the next phase of the Pacific Highway Upgrade program.

Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie has told Parliament that the next phase of investment must include overpasses and interchanges at critical intersections where there has been several fatal accidents and increased traffic flows in recent years.

ROUND 5 OF THE BUILDING BETTER REGIONS FUND IS NOW OPEN

Federal Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie has called on communities in the region to apply for funding under Round 5 of the Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF), with applications now open.

This round of funding includes $100 million in dedicated funding for tourism-related infrastructure boosting our regional tourism recovery, while maintaining $100 million for broader community infrastructure and investment.

$1 MILLION BOOST TO MEC UPGRADE

The community is today celebrating a $1 million injection in new arts and culture funding for the Mid North Coast’s home of live entertainment The Manning Entertainment Centre (MEC).

The new theatre will be a multi-purpose space with state-of-the art facilities featuring retractable seating for up to 150 patrons. There’ll be a versatile rigging system to accommodate many different types of shows, cinema projection equipment and audio gear.
